1. How much does it cost?
A standard piano tuning costs £45 to £50 depending on location. However, it will cost more if the piano is very badly out of tune and requires more than an hours work.
2. How long does it take to tune a piano?
Normally about an hour.
3. How often should I have my piano tuned?
Ideally pianos should be tuned every 6 months. Some very stable, very good quality pianos may be
OK with an annual tuning.
4. What should I do if I move house or move the piano to another room?
Leave the piano to "settle" for 2 months and then have it tuned twice within 2-3 months. The tuner will tell
you when the next tuning is advisable - normally 6 months later -depending on how the piano has settled into
its new home.
5. What should I do if my piano goes out of tune or develops a problem in between routine
appointments?
Contact Gerald Masters (01275 332313) for a "check up" appointment.
8. Is it OK to let small children play on the piano?
Yes! It's made to be played and young children may be inspired to learn to play properly when they are older if they are allowed to play as a toddler. Just supervise them and discourage them from "posting" toys etc. through the lid!!!
